Man climbs 19 storey building to rescue his mother from fire

A 35 year old man climbed the side of a 19 storey in an attempt to save his bed ridden mother from a fire in west Philadelphia.
He said he tried getting into the house from the 15th floor apartment, but it was blocked by the police.
"They said, 'we won't let you in' " he noted. "I took it upon myself so there's no limit; that's my mother."
Even with an injured hip, Jermaine managed to make it up to his mom unscathed.

"All for my mother's safety, period," he told WPVI-TV. "I wasn't worried about mine about mine at all. She can't get out of bed or walk around, so if there's a fire she needs help out"
Jermaine said his mother told him she was doing fine upon his arrival , so he climbed back down and firefighters put out the fire without incident.
He revealed his mother later saw the footage and was "shocked" but "not surprised" ."She knows I'll go above and beyond" he added.
